Alcoholism is an illness marked by drinking alcoholic beverages at a level that interferes with physical health, mental health, and social, family, or occupational responsibilities.
Alcoholism is divided into 2 categories: dependence and abuse.
People with alcohol dependence, the most severe alcohol disorder, usually experience tolerance and withdrawal. Tolerance is a need for markedly increased amounts of alcohol to achieve intoxication or the desired effect. Withdrawal occurs when alcohol is discontinued or intake is decreased. Alcohol dependents spend a great deal of time drinking alcohol, and obtaining it.
Alcohol abusers may have legal problems such as drinking and driving. They may also have problems with binge drinking (drinking 6 or more drinks at one sitting).
People who are dependent on or abuse alcohol continue to drink it despite evidence of physical or psychological problems. Those with dependence have more severe problems and a greater compulsion to drink.
Diagnostic Criteria
Alcohol abuse: A destructive pattern of alcohol use, leading to significant social, occupational, or medical impairment.
Must have three (or more) of the following, occurring when the alcohol use was at its worst: Alcohol tolerance: Either need for markedly increased amounts of alcohol to achieve intoxication, or markedly diminished effect with continued use of the same amount of alcohol.
Alcohol withdrawal symptoms: Either (A) or (B). (A) Two (or more) of the following, developing within several hours to a few days of reduction in heavy or prolonged alcohol use:
| |
(A)
sweating or rapid pulse
increased hand tremor
insomnia
nausea or vomiting
physical agitation
anxiety
transient visual, tactile, or auditory hallucinations or illusions
grand mal seizures |
|
| |
(B)
Alcohol is taken to relieve or avoid withdrawal symptoms.
Alcohol was often taken in larger amounts or over a longer period than was intended
Persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control alcohol use
Great deal of time spent in using alcohol, or recovering from hangovers
Important social, occupational, or recreational activities given up or reduced because of alcohol use.
Alcohol use is continued despite knowledge of having a persistent or recurrent physical or psychological problem that is likely to have been worsened by alcohol (e.g., continued drinking despite knowing that an ulcer was made worse by drinking alcohol) |

Treatment
Subliminal Therapy's hypnosis sessions can help those suffering from Alcoholism by easing the mental anguish that triggers the need to drink. Complete Relaxation and Anti-Anxiety ease the mind to help lessen the symptoms of withdrawal. Supreme Self Confidence will reduce the chance of a relapse.
Subliminal Therapy is a psychological process in which critical thinking faculties of the mind are bypassed and a type of selective thinking and perception is established in the patient. We recommend our subliminal hypnosis sessions be used when you are falling asleep or meditating. It is in these times when you will receive maximum benefits as the subconscious mind is open to suggestion. |

I own several other hypnosis CDs but none of them totally, completely relaxed me to the depth of “Complete Relaxation”. I'm so glad I finally found you guys. It works! It goes beyond well beyond normal hypnosis giving me the kind of contentment that I thought you could only get in a therapist's office.

I've suffered with self esteem problems most of my life, so it was time to take a chance. I couldn't be more delighted with the dramatic results I've gotten just from using “Supreme Self Confidence” a few times. My performance at work has improved, my love life is better (my boyfriend says that I have just blossomed!) and I seem to be taking center stage amongst my friends - which is something I've never experienced before. My whole life, I've kind-of hung back in the shadows and envied those in the spotlight. Now I know what it feels like to be the STAR!...and I can't believe I've wasted so much time. Your CD has changed my life and I am so very grateful!

I have never experienced such a powerful cd like “Anti-Anxiety”. It is absolutely amazing. I am recovering from an eating disorder, and it has helped me so much to let go of fears, and so much stress. Whenever I listen to it, I feel energized, and more in touch with my inner self. The best gift is that the more I listen to it, the more I live my life in peace, and following my intuition. Thank you, this is a true gift!!!

I didn't expect much from your CD, but it arrived yesterday and I gave it a try right away. Wow! I am very impressed. I've had considerable experience with hypnosis and self help over the years, and your CDs are the best I've stumbled across. I'm extremely happy I found this wonderful site and I hope you record several more.

I cannot thank you enough for your CD “Self Confidence Now”. Since I started listening to it, only about 3 weeks ago, I sleep better, feel more confident, don't get so stressed out during the day and have become far less emotional. I have yet to make it all the way to the end, usually I’m sleeping by 15 minutes in. I now have five Subliminal Therapy CDs I can always count on. These CDs have had a bigger impact on my life than just about anything, including medication and therapy.
